I want to set the repair cost of the

package net.luis.cave.events.client.world;

import net.luis.cave.Cave;
import net.minecraftforge.eventbus.api.SubscribeEvent;
import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.Mod;

@Mod.EventBusSubscriber(modid=Cave.Mod_Id, bus = Mod.EventBusSubscriber.Bus.FORGE)
public class OnAnvilUpdateEvent {

	@SubscribeEvent
	public static void AnvilUpdateEvent(net.minecraftforge.event.AnvilUpdateEvent event) {

		int cost = event.getCost();
		int materialCost = event.getMaterialCost();

		if (cost > 35) {

			event.setCost(cost / 3);

		} else if (cost > 18) {

			event.setCost(cost / 2);

		}

		event.setMaterialCost(materialCost / 2);

	}

}

anvil lower so i use the AnvilUpdateEvent but the cost is the normal vanilla cost but why:

Is your event called? Have you used the debugger?

I just use:

package net.luis.cave.events.client.world;

import net.luis.cave.Cave;
import net.minecraftforge.eventbus.api.SubscribeEvent;
import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.Mod;

@Mod.EventBusSubscriber(modid=Cave.Mod_Id, bus = Mod.EventBusSubscriber.Bus.FORGE)
public class OnAnvilUpdateEvent {

	@SubscribeEvent
	public static void AnvilUpdateEvent(net.minecraftforge.event.AnvilUpdateEvent event) {

		int cost = event.getCost();
		int materialCost = event.getMaterialCost();

		Cave.LOGGER.debug("Event");

		if (cost > 35) {

			event.setCost(cost / 3);

			Cave.LOGGER.debug("set Cost / 3");

		} else if (cost > 18) {

			event.setCost(cost / 2);

			Cave.LOGGER.debug("set Cost / 2");

		}

		event.setMaterialCost(materialCost / 2);

		Cave.LOGGER.debug("set MaterialCost / 2");

	}

}

if the cost over 18 it is called but the cost will not set

when cost over 35 the evnet is not called

and set materialCost is also called but not set

I am not going to download zip files and mess around with anything like that, sorry.

okay, I'll try to create a repository of my eclipse project with git and I'll let you know when I've done it

The anvil uses several things to calculate the cost. The cost you get passed in the event is just the RepairCost tag from both stacks (which is 0 by default).

I don't know if that is a bug or if that is intended.

so the code is correct but it dont work
