I'm new to modding in Forge, and now that I have a working 1.5.2 mod I'd like to know how I'd go about updating it to work with Minecraft 1.6.

So would a lot of us, I think. I didn't know that Forge had been updated yet (to a stable point.)

Ah, I see.  I wasn't sure how quickly things would be updated.  I've done some digging around and found LexManos' twitter, and read the changelogs and such, but there are no update nor fresh install instructions to speak of.

Is there anywhere else, that you know of which I as a new modder do not, that I should be keeping tabs for information on when I can start updating my mod?

download the forge SRC from files.minecraftforge.net once you have done that then just run the install.cmd and a MCP will be made for you! Once it has been made then put your code from your old MCP(YOURMCP/src/minecraft/YourPackage's) and paste them in the new MCP(YOURNEWMCP/src/minecraft/Pasteyourpackageshere). Check out my thread to fix the texture error's

True. And I know that Lex and cpw are all in a flurry updating Forge; I've seen the Github repo. But I don't want to get it until he's officially released for 1.6. Of course, that's just me.

Indeed, there are like a thousand new function names that aren't deobfuscated yet.  There was one I need for a gui.....no, a model renderer.

FMLClientHandler.instance().getClient().renderEngine.bindTexture(te.getModelTexture());

"bind textures" changed because of the new resource pack system

FMLClientHandler.instance().getClient().renderEngine.func_110577_a(new ResouceLocation(te.getModelTexture()));

"func_110577_a" is the new function.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.
