You're given the player and which hand is being used, from there you can check the hand inventory slots

Where are you telling it to generate data? and what data? At this point I might as well ask if your mod's source is on GitHub

What do you mean it "doesn't work"? The only thing you've posted is that it is closing in an abnormal but expected way.
