RLCraft's server download isn't like FTB's server downloads, it doesn't come with scripts to automatically download and set up Forge for you. You have to manually get the correct version of Forge, run Forge's installer to install a server, then extract the RLCraft server pack zip into the server.

It sounds like the Forge profile is being created targeting Vanilla, which is odd. Edit the profile and select Forge from the version dropdown.

How are you installing Forge? Where did you get Forge from? (please provide a url) Is this a client or a server? How are you starting Forge?

Please provide your installer log, it will have the same name as the installer but with .log on the end: Installer: forge-{version}-installer.jar Log: forge-{version}-installer.jar.log Note: If you have Windows Explorer set to hide file extensions(as is the default setting), they will look like this: Installer: forge-{version}-installer Log: forge-{version}-installer.jar

I've split your reply into its own thread, in the future please don't hijack other people's threads. This looks like a corrupted world, unless you have a back up you're hosed.

What launcher are you using? Please provide a screenshot.

Forge installs itself as a version of Minecraft. Make a new Profile/Installation and select Forge from the version dropdown. (Note: For some reason Forge 1.12.2 gets booted to the bottom of the list.)

Can you please provide debug.log files from your server and client?

Forge for 1.12.2 requires you to use Java 8 exactly, nothing later.

Unless you get this issue with a Forge client connecting to a Forge server this does not look like a Forge problem

Wait, what exact steps are you taking? Is this a situation where you downloaded a file and the browser prompts you to open or save it and you're selecting "open"?

The launcher component is not something you download manually, just run the installer, open the Minecraft Launcher, make a new installation/profile and select Forge from the versions dropdown.
