When you say crash do you mean it goes back to the launcher and says "Hey I crashed" or does it just freeze?

The issue is you're updating your own Java, not the one the launcher is using. When Twitch opens the vanilla launcher change the profile it gives you to use the Java you installed

If you have anything less than a youtuber or streamer level PC I wouldn't recommend it

What version of Forge are you trying to mod?

This is a problem with either a coremod breaking Forge or your graphics dirvers

The pack is on Curse and has server packs there

It's not supposed to, and 1.8.9 isn't supported anymore. Update to receive support.

There will no longer be a Windows-Specific installer, just make sure you have Java installed and use the regular one. If you have issues please provide your installer log, if there's no installer log, run the jar manually from the command line and provide the output.

Forge installs itself as a version of Minecraft. Make a new Profile/Installation and select Forge from the version dropdown. (Note: For some reason Forge 1.12.2 gets booted to the bottom of the list.)

Do you not know how to find a file on your computer? Do you not know how to copy and paste text? Do you not know how to click a link showing where the file I'm asking for is on your computer?

This should be fixed with the most recent update to the installer, try the latest version of Forge

1.13.2 isn't supported anymore, if you're referring to 1.14.4, try the latest version of Forge.

This is why we don't like people hijacking threads, you have a different issue that is brought on by Twitch fouling up Forge's install process.

How important is it for them to be in the same project space for you?

Before 28.1 everything was in flux and things couldn't be expected to stay compatible, now with 28.1 out that is the earliest version that mods should target, some still target the beta and need updates
