third try making this post. okay, so i cannot get the game to load worlds. single player gets stuck on that part, and multiplayer makes everything except chests, mobs, people, and particles dissapear.

only mods i have are rei's minimap, inventory tweaks, and optifine.

i've installed optifine After forge, as instructed.

Here's the logs:

after renaming the .json and .jar properly, i installed forge first into the jar. then installed optifine into the jar. then, i made a mods folder and stuck rei's minimap and inventory tweaks inside. loaded it, and then the problem happens. I've also removed META-INF before doing anything else.

this is how you do ti

(not working for Forge #780 and #781)

- Use the official launcher to download and start once Minecraft 1.6.2.

- Use the Forge installer to install Forge

- Go to the minecraft base folder (the official launchers shows it when you click "Edit Profile" as "Game Directory")

- Go in subfolder "Versions"

- Go in subfolder "Forge9.10.X.Y"

- Copy the files from the OptiFine ZIP file to "Forge9.10.X.Y.jar" as usual (you can use the 1.5.2 instructions for this) and remove the META-INF folder from "Forge9.10.X.Y.jar".

- Start the official launcher

- Select profile "Forge"

- Click "Edit Profile"

- Select the checkbox "JVM Arguments" and in the field next to it add

"-Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true"

- Click "Save Profile"

- Click "Play" or "Login" to start the game. If only "Play Offline" is available, then log out and log in again to fix it.

Thanks for that google search, Mr. Forge Code God. however, seeing as something as complex as coding isn't something i expected to run into when facing an installer, i'd say that solution is about as confusing as the problem was haha.

however, i got it to run with something simple, for a simpleton like me. :)

1. find the installer where you downloaded it

2. right click the file

3. choose open with...

4. choose java (if it's there. if not, select choose program. if its not in your list of programs, either try to find java online, or if you know you downloaded it, try searching with the start search where you would type dxdiag for your system specs.)

5. finally be able to run a file that isn't identified as a .jar in the first place, which is why i posted how i was stopped.
