Thank yous and Karma

I know that the purpose of karma is to rate users in their helpfulness, and thank yous are for rating posts.

But will there ever be a way to put that data to work?

It is easy to put it to work, just harder to come up with ideas for it besides just like auto-ranks and such. 

 

So... any ideas?

Well, in the bugs and errors board, maybe you can sort the auto-find related topics by thanks/user karma?

Would be hard, it already does a full text search....

Um, you could make it so that the the topic search on the bug reports board sorts the results by thank yous in the topic?

Not really, just take the five posts that come up after the first search. Unless you use SQL, in which case, ouch.

A hardcore minecraft forum would use java. (Don't take that seriously, please. I would hate to die.)

It is not Object-Oriented.  Well, it is, by the original definition of OO.  Java used C++'s definition of OO, which is horribly wrong and utterly nasty for multi-threading.
