i'm trying to make lightning spawn in front of my entity in a row as a sort of attack but don't know how to make it actually detect what the front is and how you move it from there.

i also have a second question, i want my entity to have multiple attacks, but currently it only prioritizes one and never does the other one.

Could you please describe where the front actually is? since there are several interpretations of front.

Show the code you are using to summon the Entities.

	@Override
	public void performRangedAttack(LivingEntity p_33317_, float p_33318_) {
		if (this.distanceToSqr(p_33317_) >=10) {
		LightningBolt lightningbolt = new LightningBolt(EntityType.LIGHTNING_BOLT, this.level);
		//get the front of the entity
		//set the pos to (for example) 2 blocks in front of it
	      this.level.addFreshEntity(lightningbolt);

(the 'if distancetosqr' was an attempt to try alternate between attacks)

Entity.getViewVector() tells you the direction it is looking.

Entity.getPosition() or Entity.getEyePosition() tells you where they are.

Then its just vector arithmetic.

Boilerplate:

If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one.

If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install

Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com  You should also read the support forum sticky post.
