Im trying to get the name of a paper item after its name was changed in an anvil. Although using ItemStack.getDisplayName(); or ItemStack.getHoverName(); does not return this.

I also tried looking at Item but i cant find any way to get the Items Name.

Is there any way to get the name I want from the ItemStack?

Subscribe to AnvilUpdateEvent you then can get the name via AnvilUpdateEvent#getName

Thank you i figured out a system to get this event to work. I have another question if you dont mind is it possible to pop up this menu manually instead of having a player open up an anvil and type in  a value so they can just have a anvil gui pop up and they can just type in the value?

Not really.

You could try to emulate what AnvilBlock.use() does.

But you will hit a roadblock trying to implement the ContainerLevelAccess which AnvilMenu/ItemCombinerMenu uses for things like checking the AnvilBlock is still there, breaking the anvil block after crafting, etc.

Boilerplate:

If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one.

If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install

Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com  You should also read the support forum sticky post.
