Posted October 30, 20223 yr I'm new to modding and I'm trying to create an altar with a custom block. When I place the block down I want there to be a check for a specific formation of said block. Currently, I'm trying to use the getBlock() method, but I don't know how to use it for a specific relative location (1 block to the left, 2 to the right, 3 to the north, etc.). Any help would be appreciated.
October 31, 20223 yr If it is a fixed pattern, look at how the CarvedPumpkinBlock detects if it should spawn golems using the BlockPattern class. Or another way is how BaseFireBlock detects a "nether" portal. Boilerplate: If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one. If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com You should also read the support forum sticky post.
