Posted October 6, 201311 yr I'm currently trying to add a 2 second delay after a pig's death, but it just ends up freezing the pig for 2 seconds and then doing everything else. Is there a way to wait 2 seconds without freezing the game's thread? EventEntity package assets.darkorigins.event; import net.minecraftforge.event.entity.living.LivingDeathEvent; public class EventEntity { public static void deathEnderDragon(LivingDeathEvent event) //This method is called whenever a pig is killed { if(!event.entityLiving.worldObj.isRemote) { Thread thread = new Thread(); System.out.println("WAITING..."); try { thread.sleep(2000); }catch(InterruptedException e){} System.out.println("HI!"); } } } Kain
October 6, 201311 yr Try this.wait() Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice. Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked. DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
October 6, 201311 yr Author I had to mess around with a bunch of stuff, but whenever I kill a pig, it prints nothing. EventEnderDragon package assets.darkorigins.event; import net.minecraftforge.event.entity.living.LivingDeathEvent; public class EventEnderDragon extends EventBase { public EventEnderDragon(LivingDeathEvent event) { super(event); } protected void init(LivingDeathEvent event) throws Exception { super.init(); if(!event.entityLiving.worldObj.isRemote) { System.out.println("WAITING..."); this.wait(2); System.out.println("HI!"); } } } EventBase package assets.darkorigins.event; import net.minecraftforge.event.entity.living.LivingDeathEvent; public class EventBase { public EventBase(LivingDeathEvent event) { super(); } protected void init() throws Exception { } } DarkOriginsEvent package assets.darkorigins; import net.minecraft.entity.passive.EntityPig; import net.minecraftforge.event.ForgeSubscribe; import net.minecraftforge.event.entity.living.LivingDeathEvent; import assets.darkorigins.event.EventEnderDragon; public class DarkOriginsEvent { @ForgeSubscribe public void entityDeath(LivingDeathEvent event) { if(event.entityLiving instanceof EntityPig){new EventEnderDragon(event);} } } Do you have any other suggestions to try to add a delay? Kain
October 6, 201311 yr Store a reference to the entity somewhere, access it via a tick handler, count down then do stuff? If you guys dont get it.. then well ya.. try harder...
October 6, 201311 yr Author Don't really understand, but would I make a TickHandler, add a method to count the ticks, and then make a call to the TickHandler from the Event? Kain
