block that damages mob when standing on it

Hi

If you want to kill the mob instantly you can kill it in the block's onEntityWalking(World world, int x, int y, int z, Entity entity) method.

@Override
public void onEntityWalking(World world, int x, int y, int z, Entity entity)
{
    entity.setDead(); // or something like that.
}

I hope you can find some entity detection releated stuff in the vanilla pressure plate's code.

Sorry for my bad English!

You can check if the entity is a mob by doing this:

@Override
public void onEntityWalking(World world, int x, int y, int z, Entity entity)
{
    if (entity instanceof EntityMob) {
        entity.setDead(); // or something like that.
    }
}

You can also make the block have a shorter physics hull than rendering hull (think soul sand) and use onEntityCollideWithBlock.

https://github.com/Draco18s/Artifacts/blob/master/draco18s/artifacts/block/BlockQuickSand.java

You will need the physics hull to be at least 1% smaller than the actual hull, or the collision won't be detected on every side that you wish for the damage to be dealt (linked block is top, cactus is top and sides).

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
