Posted December 25, 201311 yr I´ve got a question: How can I detect wether a mob is spawned? I´m going to code a mod that kills bat´s if they spawn, but how can i detect if they spawn and how can i get the entity to kill it?
December 25, 201311 yr Forge events. There's one, I believe, for entity spawns, but you could also use EntityLivingEvent which occurs every tick. Just test to see if the entity passed is an instance of EntityBat, and if it is, kill the entity (setDead() will just remove it from the world without triggering death sounds, etc. unlike kill()) Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice. Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked. DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
December 25, 201311 yr EntityJoinWorldEvent. Not sure what kind of mob would actually stop bat from spawning instead of killing it afterwards, but, who knows ?
December 26, 201311 yr Hi It kind of depends on what you want to do. Is your entity like a sentinel or something, that sits and waits until a bat comes into range then hunts it down? Or do you want bats to never spawn at all if there is at least one of your entity in the world? Or do you want the entity to instantly know if a bat is spawned, then move to it and kill it? Different answers in each case... -TGG
