How to extend another mod?

Hey guys,

I want to code a new machine like other TE machines, and I don't know where to get started. There isn't any kind of API for TE 3.0 and I just don't know how to get started coding the machine. I looked at the source of TE and it all looked very structured in itself (I don't know how I can say this, I want to say that it looks like a closed system) and I don't know how to simply create a new TE machine.

Can you help me to get started please?

TE does have an api, as does its core mod. Just drag and drop the api files into your workspace.

It doesn't have an API. TE2 has got one, TE3 doesn't have.

If the API doesn't exist, then you can't create new machines for it.

Not with out a LOT of work, extracting and decompiling TE and converting all the vanilla functions and fields back to their deobfuscated forms manually.

The new TE site isnt fully updated yet either. Since TE2 had an api, Im sure its just a matter of time before they implement one for TE3.

I don't think they are implementing an API they just say use IMC. But with that you can't create new machines with it.

mod works well it would be better if the fishing rod wasnt unbrekable tho hope u can make it for the newer versions @FoxyWoxy

New Forum Design/Update: Issues and Suggestions

Hiho,

first of all I want to say that the new forum design looks really good.

However, there are currently two issues:

In the "Unread" section, the "Mark all as Read" feature seems to be missing - or am I just overlooking it somewhere?
Some threads don’t automatically get marked as read when you open them. So the post still shows up in "Unread," even though you’ve already viewed it.

Then I have a smaller suggestion, referring to the Text Editor:

It is possible to move out the "Inline Code"-Feature from the "More Formatting Options" and add it directly to the Text Editor Tool Bar?
Same for "Quote"-Feature inside the Create Section

These two features are used quite often (at least by me) - as far as I remember, they were also available in the old forum design.

That fixed it! it's still being weird and not actually printing anything to CMD but the logs look fine and eventually the gui generated looking normal. Thanks for your help I've done that on linux before but windows servers have always just worked with one click for some reason for me

Make sure you are using Java 17 JDK

In the start script, replace the word "java" with the java 17 path (javaw.exe) and put it into quotation marks
