So create a dimension like you would at any other time.  There's a function for nextAvailableDim, but you'll have to look for it.  Check the DimensionManager.

 

If you don't know how to create a dimension at all, then you need to take baby steps and start simply.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

 

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

nextaAvailableDim sounds good...

But the last time i coded a dimension (was before i learned java, version 1.3 or 1.4) i had to register something like a dimension id. Do i still have to register that?

nextAvailableDim just tells you what dimID is available.

So item and block ids are auto created and dimensionIds are not???

And is there any way (without external save file) to load the new dimensions in the init at a reboot?

I don't know.  I haven't delved into the mysteries of dimensions personally, I just know a handful of tangential operations that come up when using them.
