MCPatcher and Forge are not compatible. If you don't want to do it manually, try MultiMC or Magic Launcher. Direwolf20 made a video spotlight of MultiMC 4.0, so give that a watch on how to work it. It's pretty simple.

Again, MCPatcher is not compatible with Forge at all. Also, if you previously used MCPatcher to install HD textures, you'll have to use Optifine instead. (I personally like Optifine better, and it works fine alongside forge)

:D

Currently in the process of adding some mod support for JohnSmith Texture Pack.

To be more specific, the MCPatcher's "HD Textures" mod and Forge are not compatible.

If you disable that mod in MCPatcher, everything works perfectly. Also, I use HD textures without using OptiFine at all.

Either way, it's not recommended to use MCPatcher with Forge. See this post for  one reason why.

I think the main reason most people use MCPatcher is due to its UFI (User Friendly Interface) and its connected textures / as well as the fact it loads most mods (that don't require extensive modifications like tons of additional weapons that do nothing special and look quite silly / new items that also are useless) and rarely crashes. It tests for problems, gives you an exact readout on the problems, and is generally more texture improving based.

Optifine is about making Minecraft run faster, not really helping it look nicer. Plus its more jumbled to use Opt/Forge instead of just MCPatcher - no idea why the owner of Forge can't just give the fans something so simple. Its not hurting anyone except his damn pride which he's displayed in multiple threads (I've seen the guy cuss people out for being polite, its unprofessional and rude).

Its not my problem that MCPatcher does things wrong and does things it shouldn't be doing. And its not my fault that Forge and MCPatcher are incompatible.

It's MCPatchers fault.

Get your facts straight before you act like a dick.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

    • Hello! I have been having a problem with Forgematica, Embeddium, Oculus, and create. I wanted to download litematica so I could see which blocks are in my creative mode build, so that I could collect them all in survival. However, litematica is a fabric mod. I found a port called forgematica, which I added (along with it's dependency) to my mods folder. I loaded into a new world, and built a structure. Then, I added a part from the create mod, and the game crashed instantly, with exit code -1. Thanks for any help! Crash Report and mods list: https://pastebin.com/rtzh6LAi
