So I finished updating my mod to 1.7.2 and got rid of all the errors, I have a few problems but right now I am focusing on the problem that my armor is white dyed leather, or iron Its hard to tell. I have tried almost everything and definitly every forum post on it. Nothing works. I am sure its the right texture directory. Thanks so much for you're help!

Code: http://pastebin.com/taPEXwLJ

Main Class Code:        MyHelmet_1 = new MyArmor(0, MyArmorMaterial_1, 0, 0, "myarmor").setCreativeTab(MyCreativeTab_1);

        GameRegistry.registerItem(MyHelmet_1, "MyHelmet_1");

        LanguageRegistry.addName(MyHelmet_1, "Sapphire Helmet");

Don't know too much about this stuff but I wonder if the armor material is overwriting the texture somehow.

You need to replace:

public String getArmorTexture(ItemStack stack, Entity entity, int slot, int layer)

with:

public String getArmorTexture(ItemStack stack, Entity entity, int slot, String type)
