I was wondering if it's possible to localize a string other then an item or block name. If I have a String, for example text on a Gui, and I want to localize it with a lang file. How would I do that?

as far as i know the StatCollector can be used for this:

StatCollector.translateToLocal("gui.screen.action")

then obviously that string goes in the lang file so it gets translated

@MoeBoy79 Looking at the StatCollector class it uses StringTranslate. Could I use that instead? I don't want to use StatCollector because I'm not creating a stat. :)

That's stupid, that's like saying I don't want to get a backpack from the car because I'm not driving the car...?

Nope, StringTranslate is internal and the only class that has one is the StatCollector

I'm honestly not sure that this is possible. Try setting it to something like lang.text and go into the lang file and add in lang.text=Text. That might work but I am just telling you this off of the top of my head.

Yep, works now, thanks everyone!

This post makes me lol because it's 4 posts after the solution saying its not possible.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
