I heard that you need to @Override getContainerItem(ItemStack itemStack) but this seems to not work... Is there something I'm missing here...

This code works for me in 1.7.10, maybe it will work too in 1.8:

 

@Override

    public boolean doesContainerItemLeaveCraftingGrid(ItemStack itemStack)

    {

        return false;

    }

override

hasContainerItem(ItemStack)

and return true.

This only tells it should not put the container item outside the crafting grid and into the player inventory.

Thanks Dragonisser i was missing @Override hasContainerItem(ItemStack itemStack) and did not know that was needed.
