I am having problem with replacing blocks that holds a TileEntity.

So, calling world.setBlock() does not visually replace the block.

When I attempt to place a new block (wood, for example) on top of them, the block disappears and the wood replaces it.

So:

What should I do to ensure the block is changed properly? (Server-side?)

Show your code.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

I am attempting to do it in TileEntity:

this.worldObj.setBlock(this.xCoord, this.yCoord, this.zCoord, new WhateverBlock("WhateverArgs"));

And it seems that the WhateverBlock disappears as stated...

Then how to replace a block?

I still dont know how.

Here's an example for you:

this.worldObj.setBlock(this.xCoord, this.yCoord, this.zCoord, Blocks.stone)

That turns your block into stone.

Also if you don't know Java, I would suggest you read the official tutorials by Oracle to get an idea of how to do this. Thanks, and good modding!

Also if you haven't, set up a Git repo for your mod not only for convinience but also to make it easier to help you.

So, I just need to make a reference of the instance in init method?

And other classes obey this, right? (At least, I know Items function like that.)
