Lionpaw52 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 MC 1.8, Forge 1453 and 1479, Win 7 I get a lot of flickering in the texture, sometimes from start but mostly after playing a while. - the item name in the small Waila HUD window sometimes flicker when I point at stuff. - the whole world flickers in the Nether if I have Waila installed - Distent items, e.g. trees, in the normal world start to flicker after playing a while. I'v also seen textures, e.g. glass panes flicker when camera is not looking on it straight on. This also happens when Waila is not installed. - Elians material detector has some text around its radar that flickers all the time. Types of flicker: - Swithing fast between correct color and some base color, often white. Stroboscope thingy - Texture on/off sort of thing - Looks like distant itemd are moving right and left a pixel or two very fast, (makes me sort sea sick) I'v tried to add/remove add-ons and play around with settings - nothing helped so far except the flickering in the neather. I cannot see anything in the logs. Quote
SanAndreaP Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Forge is not out for 1.8.7 yet. You need Minecraft 1.8 in order to use Forge. Quote Don't ask for support per PM! LexManos Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Remove mods, provide logs, provide video to demonstrate 'flickering' Quote I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
Lionpaw52 Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 Yes, I know forge is not ready for 1.8.7. Still the alfa/beta/whatever works very nicely so far. Some of the addons is also alfa/beta so I know what to expect. Yes, I will try to run 1.8.7 with forge 1480 but without any other add-ons to see if the problem occurs and if so grab some logs and videos. Quote

Lionpaw52 Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 ok, I will postpone my comments until someone asks for help testing Forge for 1.8.7 (regardless of the fact that Forge for 1.8 works very nicely on 1.8.7 already). Quote
Lionpaw52 Posted June 24, 2015 Author Posted June 24, 2015 ah, ok, my bad So the flickering is with MC 1.8 + Forge for 1.8 - hm... Quote
Lionpaw52 Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 ok, so now I have captured one of the problems. Waila is one of the problems (still in Beta I know) - I will report this to Waila also. logs: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/58751759/Flicker%20with%20Waila%20-%20logs.rar video: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/58751759/Flicker%20with%20waila.wmv there are some other "stuff" in the logs that might be of interest - one is a crash trying to access a mojang thingy. I'v repeated the test with only waila installed - same result Quote
LexManos Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Seems to me like an issue with waila's HUD screwing up the GL context causing transparency to not work correctly. Nothing forge related. Speak to Waila's author. Quote I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
Lionpaw52 Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 Yes I will do that. I will also slowly add the other add-ons I have one by one to see when the flickering starts and report back. --- edit 1 --- Both Backpacks and Random Things are missing some model information that gives error messages in the Forge log. Both have been informed. The hunt goes on Quote
Lionpaw52 Posted June 25, 2015 Author Posted June 25, 2015 I have failed to re-create the problem so far. Close/remove this topic for now. Quote
Lionpaw52 Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 Oops Tyken123 have also reported this flickering. I'v added a video to his thread Quote
