Hi guys well im having a terrible day gone from a working minecraft with the latest modloader installed which worked to nothing.

 

There must of been a update to the latest build while i wasent looking.

 

I could swear the one that worked for me was 6.2.1.351 or 6.0.1.351 or something like that a version that i cant find.

 

The latest is now 6.2.1.356 and with this horrible version i load up minecraft and it sits there saying Done Loading.

 

I did what i think im ment to do.

 

1.delete .minecraft folder

2.load minecraft loader

3.click force update

4.quit out of game

5.go to Appdata Roaming .minecraft

6.go to bin folder

7.right click minecraft.jar open with winrar or 7 zip and ive tried both of them

8.delete Meta.Inf then go to the zip file with forge loader in it copy all the files over

to the minecraft.jar

 

There was an included Meta.Inf in the forge loader zip file. I deleted this to no avial ive tried with it there and without it there.

 

Ive even tried deleteing it all and re downloading the loader.

 

Still stuck at loading screen if you wan't a video ill do one tonight.

 

Also while the mod community is at it someone should make powerconverters work properly with the energy link i miss that thing already

I just want to throw in that I'm getting this same crash behavior too with the latest download with the vanilla launcher and Multi-MC.

 

The vanilla launcher produces no error report.

 

There is no log in .minecraft/ForgeModLoader-client/server-x.log either.

 

I've never used forge before but I've been using Minecraft and mods since beta, I tried installing this 2 or 3 times making sure I followed all of the directions from a fresh download of 1.4.2, including deleting the META-INF folder.

 

If I go back one version then it works up until I try to generate a new world.

 

The only mod I was using with forge was the Twilight Woods mod in the mod folder, that seems to load OK.

f1gm3nt3d: MultiMC says that you're using Minecraft 1.4.3. I don't think that Forge is entirely ready just yet.

Not true, I absolutely wasn't using the pre-release. That's the version reported because that's what Forge is changing it to because it's what the latest release is compiled against. I just figured this out and came on here to post:

 

When I tried to decompile forge with MCP to see if I could get some better error logging going on I kept getting modified client and server warnings and decompile errors and the version MCP was reporting after running the install.cmd file to merge the forge stuff was 1.4.3 but when I tried decompiling my vanilla jars with MCP's decompile.bat everything was fine. I noticed when trying to decompile Forge that MCP was saying the server and jar version were 1.4.3 so I downloaded the pre-release copied Forge into the jar and it works.

 

To re-iterate the latest-latest release at http://adf.ly/673885/http://files.minecraftforge.net/minecraftforge-universal-6.2.1.356.zip is for 1.4.3 at least that's what's working for me:

 

I don't know if the Twilight Forest mod works with 1.4.3, I haven't tried it.

I see no reason to think that any 1.4.2 mod should work with 1.4.3.

Try Forge #355 then. Both of you.

Had to go to 354 for Twilight Forest to work, FYI for anyone else trying the mod.

So, you tried to install Forge for 1.4.3 on 1.4.2... Really.. you think that would work....

Please pay attention to the logs, change logs, git commits, or plethora of other ways we have tell you whats up with forge.
