If you must play 1.6.4 for whatever reason (You shouldn't need to) There was one final update to forge for 1.6.4 which fixes the issues with java 8

If you don't need to play 1.6.4, update to 1.7.10 or 1.8

im trying to use forge and mods after a little while of not playing minecraft but i cant use forge as i am using the new launcher (the one that doesnt need java installed) but when i run minecraft after using the installer for 1.7.10, i get this: http://pastebin.com/fRCGCUFc

There is no config. It didnt even generate a minecraft.jar for the forge profile. It just began loading and then crashed. Its the initial startup from after running the forge installer

p.s. i'd launched minecraft first before using the forge installer as you should do but ive never had any problems before when i was playing 6 months ago or something like that

have you not read? i havent played minecraft in ages. I didnt have any problems in the past. Does the fact that im on windows xp affect anything? and also, i have ran vanilla minecraft with no issues and then ran the installer for forge but when i then tried to run the profile, it crashed

Update forge.

Something in your graphics drivers are shit and doesnt allow multithreaded rendering. This is a detected issue in latest versions causing forge to automatically disable the loading screen for the next run.

 

So again update Forge

i went to the forge installer 1451 instead of the recommended 1448 but it still does it. I have integrated graphics

HoodWink I know what your problem is.

Go to %appdata%

Hit .Minecraft

Go to the config folder

Find splash.properties

Double click it and search through windows if needed

Choose NotePad

Where it says, Enabled

Put False like so:

Enabled: False

This is what we have been trying to tell him but hes a fucking moron.

Updating to the newest version will have the error happen once, and then Forge itself will disable it.

Talking about other installers that steal modders content and rehost/package them without permissions is not gunna garner any sympathy. {Note the website im referring to has been removed from his post because I dont want him advertising for bad things}

The Forge installer works fine because if it didnt you wouldn't get to the stage where you're having this issue. SIMPLE FACTS.

The reason using that 'installer' 'worked' is because IT LIED TO YOU ABOUT WHAT VERSION IT WAS INSTALLING. Probably installing a modified/old version of Forge before the loading screen existed.

 

If you can't edit a simple text file, and refuse to update to the latest version, then we can not help you.
