[1.2.5][Mod: V1.3]Visible audio cues. (MCCues)

Premise:

As a person with no directional hearing, it annoys me when creepers sneak up on me from behind. So I made this.

Purpose:

To provide a sense of direction to the sounds you hear (or to give the sound information when the sound is off SEE NOTES).

Install it into the .minecraft/mods/ folder with Forge version greater than 100 installed.

Download links:

V1.3 http://www.mediafire...35v1lb0u4it0uzq Changes: Transparency on lines depends on the distance of the sound from the player.

V1.2 http://www.mediafire...tfm7t581b0x2png Changes: Implemented red arcs for hostile mobs. Implemented rotating HUD (arcs will rotate with head movement). Will ignore rain and player step events.

V1.1 http://www.mediafire...kdl1ajlolq5sved Changes: Shortened lifespan of lines. Reduced clutter.

V1.0 http://www.mediafire...t7al8xi2295y6y1 Changes: Initial release

NOTES:

Due to the way the sound forge hook works, you must keep the volume at 1% or above in order for the hook to be called. It is possible however to mute Minecraft separately using your operating system's volume control in all good operating systems.

Finally, this is mod is under active development, and I will take account of your opinions and ideas. I may or may not choose to ignore them, though wink.png

This is awesome looking.  Cannot wait to see all the effects and all else that you create.  Perhaps per-sound effects that default to something like you have now?

EDIT:  Also, you are modder rank now.

Thanks :)

As for the per-sound effects, what would you like to see for each sound, bearing in mind spriting is going to be a dick? :P

Whatever is appropriate?  I am horrible with art.  ;)

How about making different mobs have different colored and shaped cues?

Or each cue could look like a smaller version of the mob.

So, what would happen if I did push that shiny red button over there? ... Really? ... Can I try it? ... Damn.

How would the shapes work?

A different shape could mean different things about the mob. Like the ambient cow noise would be the parabola, but the cow being punched noise would be something else. That would help with video game players who have bad hearing or are playing in a loud environment (like at home with siblings).
