I tried to install Minecraft Forge so that i can download some cool mods and then when i started minecraft , it crashed.

I used "minecrafterrortest.bat" and got this:

I did everything the readme said , i tried installing it 5 times and used 4 different versions... nothing works.

Are you trying to run Minecraft 1.4.2?  All of your mods are for 1.3.2.  That don't work.

ok , i found the 1.4.2 version , installed it and its working.

So now to install the mods i just drop them in to minecraft.jar?

the whole mod.rar file or do i have to extract them into a folder and then put them in Mods?

 

I just drag and dropped most mods into minecraft.jar and TMI , PaintGun seem to work

but when i tried to install the Gravity Gun mod the game crashed.

I guess ill have to ask the maker of the mod about that.

One of the major points of forge is that nothing else should have to go into your jar, so you know.. you should read the install instructions that come with all of the mods you are downloading, they tell you better what to do then we can -.-

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

Every mod says i should copy-paste it into minecraft.jar

and it says nothing about how to install it if you have forge.

So i ask a gain, do i put the whole "TooManyItems.rar" or "TooManyItems.zip" into mods

or do i extract it into a folder "TooManyItems (folder)" and place it into mods?

TooManyItems goes in the Jar, but if you're using Forge you should really use NotEnoughItems which goes in the "coremods" folder
