So i installed forge, set up my desired mc version (1.6.4) and while there WAS a "forge" selection in the launcher, there WASN'T a "mods" button ingame like i remember there being when i used this program years ago. nor did my mod turn on. now, just for the sake of testing, i tried again with a different minecraft version, the current one. and once again, no mod button. HOWEVER, the installation DID finish. and it DID tell me "forge is installed" or whatever. so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

edit: AFTER this failed, i attempted to go in and do a manual mod installation. this too did not work.

    1) 1.6.4 is years old, stop using it we do not support it

    i am aware of this. but, nothing happens no matter what version i choose. unless i'm looking in the wrong place. so then in case i'm doing something wrong, what SHOULD change in game if it's working properly?

    That's the forge profile, but you don't have a Forge version selected in the "Use Version" dropdown (like diesieben07 said before).

    and everything HAS to be a problem. so current version works fine. but i need 1.6.4 to work.... but that just makes the game shut off upon launching....annnnnnnnnd according to the rules i can't get help for that here since it's old. where could i go to get help if help is not offered here?
