1.8.8 works on a Mac running 10.10, but 1.7.10 with OreSpawn installed it gets to a point where it proclaims "shutting down internal server" and it crashes. I haven't tested it without OreSpawn. I have the crash report, but wasn't sure if I should post it here.

1.7 works just fine on macs. Propertly report issues that you are having by posting logs in the proper support section.

Also in general you should update to 1.8, its over a year old...

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

Trying to run OreSpawn, which appears to only be updated through 1.7. Tried another 1.7 mod, twilight forest, which also didn't work. When 1.8.8 is running don't see OreSpawn among the mods.

Like LexManos said, post the FML log. Even the EAQ (which you're supposed to read before posting) tells you to do this.

The log will tell us what's actually happening, we can't do much more than guess without it.

Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.

Wasn't sure this was the right place to post the log. He only mentioned posting it in the right area.

That's the crash report rather than the FML log, but it does reveal the issue. The EAQ has a bullet point for this crash, the solution is to lower your view distance.
