Posted March 20, 20169 yr I realiesed that the "LivingHurtEvent" does not get triggered on a Multiplayer Server. I tested this by using this Code. @SubscribeEvent public void OnKeyInput(LivingHurtEvent e) { if(Minecraft.getMinecraft().thePlayer.worldObj.isRemote) { Minecraft.getMinecraft().thePlayer.addChatMessage(new ChatComponentText("HurtEvent")); } } On Singleplayer I got the message, on Multiplayer I didn´t.
March 20, 20169 yr Don't use the Minecraft class.. it only exists on the client. Use the event's world object.
March 20, 20169 yr Before writing anything, you should learn what it means to use Application Side (Dedic.jar or Client.jar) and logical side (client and server). Some events are for SP, some for MP and some for both. LivingHurtEvent can be fired on Server. Saying that - the event IS FIRED. It is just that your statement (if) stops it. Using minecraft.class in Common code will crash server side (Minecraft is client only class). Using #thePlayer in common code is retarded - #thePlayer is client player you are currently controlling. You need to check: event.entity 1.7.10 is no longer supported by forge, you are on your own.
March 20, 20169 yr Author Ok. I registered the Event with: FMLCommonHandler.instance().bus().register(new Main()); and my new Code is: @SubscribeEvent public void OnKeyInput(LivingHurtEvent e) { Minecraft.getMinecraft().thePlayer.addChatMessage(new ChatComponentText("HurtEvent")); } But I still do not get the message on a Server. In Singleplayer it works.
March 20, 20169 yr Because you're still using Minecraft.getMinecraft().thePlayer Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice. Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked. DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
March 20, 20169 yr If the mod is on a server that makes no fucking sense. March 20, 20169 yr Author No there is no mod on the server... A player has the mod installed and he joines a normal Bukkit or Spigot server. And now the Event doesnt get triggered. I even tried: @SubscribeEvent public void OnKeyInput(LivingHurtEvent e) { System.out.println("test"); Minecraft.getMinecraft().thePlayer.addChatMessage(new ChatComponentText("HurtEvent")); } And I do not get "test" in the console.
March 20, 20169 yr diesieben07 you are right, that is exactly what I want to do. But is it possible to trigger this or a similar event on Multiplayer? Huh.... Don't you need to add some stuff to the @mod? I might be wrong but I remember something like clientSide=true Wait, is the entire mod client sided?
March 20, 20169 yr If I recall from my own testing, LivingHurtEvent only fires on the server UNLESS the hurt entity is a player. So you will not be able to do what you want with a client-side only mod. http://i.imgur.com/NdrFdld.png[/img]
March 20, 20169 yr I mean.. you could check if you hit anything yourself whenever you swing and then run the code there. Like check if there is an entity wherever you swung. Bow and arrows.. those are a bit harder
March 20, 20169 yr Author coolAlias can you send some example code, because i only need the event if a player is hurt anyway so that would be ok. Thanks
March 20, 20169 yr LivingHurtEvent is fired on the Forge event bus ( MinecraftFroge.EVENT_BUS ) rather than the FML event bus ( FMLCommonHandler.instance().bus() ). Read the documentation for the classes you use. You should also specify which version of Minecraft you're using in the title of your thread. Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.
March 21, 20169 yr Are you using your main mod class as the event handler? Probably not the best of ideas, but if that's really what you want, use the mod instance that should already exist,e.g. Main.instance. That all said, we can't help you if all you say is 'it doesn't work' and don't show us any other code. Show us the entire class that contains your mis-named LivingHurtEvent handler, as well as the entire class containing your registration of that event handler. And again, keep in mind that LivingHurtEvent only fires on the SERVER except under very specific circumstances, so if you are trying to make a client-side only mod, you are probably going to have to come up with a different solution. http://i.imgur.com/NdrFdld.png[/img]
March 21, 20169 yr Author Ok I changed some things around: 1. I made a new Class: public class HurtEvent { @SubscribeEvent public void OnKeyInputx(LivingHurtEvent e) { System.out.println("HurtEvent"); } } 2. And I registered this class by calling: FMLCommonHandler.instance().bus().register(new HurtEvent()); 3. I also registered the Code by calling: MinecraftForge.EVENT_BUS.register(new HurtEvent()); Does anyone know why it is still not working?
March 21, 20169 yr Where do you register it? Show that entire class, not just the single line. Also, are you still testing on a server with the mod only on your client? Because this very likely isn't going to work if you don't have the mod on the server, too. http://i.imgur.com/NdrFdld.png[/img]
March 21, 20169 yr Author @EventHandler public void preinit(FMLPreInitializationEvent e) throws AWTException, NativeHookException { FMLCommonHandler.instance().bus().register(new HurtEvent()); MinecraftForge.EVENT_BUS.register(new HurtEvent()); } And I need it to work on Client only.
March 21, 20169 yr For the Client there is a Packet that is used to Update the Entity (an then they are rendered red if they got hit) maybe you should look how this works. catch(Exception e) { } Yay, Pokémon exception handling, gotta catch 'em all (and then do nothing with 'em).
March 21, 20169 yr Author Do you know the Name of the packet and how to execute code when the client recives the code?
March 21, 20169 yr Author Ok I justed tested some thing: Side side = FMLCommonHandler.instance().getSide(); On Single- and Multi-Player it allways returned "CLIENT", but why can I not recive the Event on Mutliplayer then?
