[1.9] BUG Version 1780 : Nether portal doesn't work properly on overworld

Recommended Posts

Using version 1.9-forge1.9-12.16.0.1780:

(issue existed several version before this).

When entering existing nether portal (have not tried to create new ones) after Forge 1.9 was installed, instead of teleporting to the nether, it teleported me to another portal on the overworld, stepping into 1st portal, teleporting me to 2nd portal, then second portal to the 3rd portal. All these portals are on the overworld in 3 locations I have been to before that are about 1000 blocks apart(in overworld distance).

New information:

It looks like, instead of teleporting me to the nether, it teleports me to a Overworld location and then turn the Overworld into nether!, not sure how to explain this, when I get there, the location is definitely overworld (for example say it's my house), but the world become nether (sky is red, the music, and environment sounds are all nether), if I enter the nether portal again, it will teleport me to another overworld location then "toggles" the world back to being "Overworld" (blue sky, sun and moon etc).

It's kind of cool actually, giving it some kind of apocalyptic vibe. Really scary.

Side effect

The side effect is that, the overworld location that got "toggled" into nether having lighting permanently screwed up. I travelled directly to the location and the area are into total darkness even during sun light, its like the whole area been burned by fire. Placing or destroying a block forcing it to recalculate just that one chunk area (16x16) if its not obstructed. This doesnt get fix even if launch without forge.

Thanks and keep up the good work.
