Posted April 16, 20169 yr Very simply put, here are the details: Forge blocks org.apache from being accessed from anywhere except it's own httpcomponents library. However, my mod needs to use a library that needs a certain class (http/nio/etc) that httpcomponents that comes with Minecraft does not contain. How can I allow the library to access it's own version of org.apache? Thanks!
April 16, 20169 yr Author Did you read my post? Forge blocks org.apache. All I get are ClassNotFound Exceptions. I'm looking for a way to force Forge to unblock it.
April 16, 20169 yr We dont block people from accessing it, a lot of vanilla accesses it. What we block is people MODIFYING IT! Or doing retarded things in the pre-mc space. So either 1) Stop writing a coremod or 2) If this is actually effecting you and you're not writing a coremod, look into the shade plugin. I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
April 16, 20169 yr Author I've tried shading it, I've asked other people who helped me to shade it. Still does not work. Forge does not provide the class I need (org.apache.http.nio.reactor.IOReactorException.class) in httpcomponents, and adding my own is not working. Also, look at this: https://github.com/MinecraftForge/FML/issues/424
April 17, 20169 yr Yes, that class is not supplied because Mojang supplies the HTTPCore not HTTPCore NIO. What you need to do is shade whatever libraries you want into that. You should not be pushing libraries to the global scope to prevent version conflicts. This restriction you linked has nothing to do with what you're referring to, or well at least your understanding of it. If you know what you are doing you can supply the libraries just fine. If you DONT know what you are doing you shouldn't supply them as it'll fuck up. So go use the shade plugin like I've told you to and you'll be fine. If you can't figure that out from the plenty of tutorials we have and google has then there isn't much we can do. I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
April 17, 20169 yr Author I normally don't ask how to do something, but I've googled everywhere and asked tons of people to no avail. Could you give me an example of how to shade with gradle please? I would really appreciate it if you could. I've been working hours on this problem and (like I said) asked others. I would really like to know the answer to my problem.
