i am having trouble with a code i made i get the error at com.mightydanp.eot.core.handler.RegistryHandler.registerBlockState(RegistryHandler.java:60)

Everyone conplains about unlocalized name but I have never had any problems with it

You might not have had any problems with the unlocalized name but it is not intended to be used as registry name. The unlocalized name can change based on the item's metadata but the registry name is always stable and must not change.

after i removed the block.getunlocalizedname i am getting this error

i see. what i dont understand is what is making it get invalidly named. i even chamged essenceOre to something else and it sead that still is invalidly named even after.

i took it out with //GameRegistry.register(itemBlock.setRegistryName(name)); and i still got the same error

i fixed it but i am still having a bit of trouble when i look at the name of the blocks all they say is tile.ore.name on all of them. What am i missing?

your solution isnt the right answer to the problem. the problem i am having is i have 5 block states with the same tile.ore.name

There is a method in the block class called getUnlocalizedName and it gives you an IBlockState. You could for example return the old name + _ + the EnumWhatever.ordinal(). This way you get as many slightly different names as you need. The same goes for your ItemBlock but there the method gives you a metadata value which you could directly add to the string. For that you need to make your own implementation of the ItemBlock class.

not working meaning when i used it in my item classes it went from item.ingot.name to item.ingot_copper.name, item.ingot_tin..etc when i tried it in my itemBlock class it just stays as tile.ore.name and doesn't change

That's why I posted that piece of code. My code is simple getting the unlocalized name you are setting in your block's constructor and adding a item damage/blockstate dependent string to it.

  To add the item to the creative mode tab, you'll need to reference the item you registered in ModItems ( ModItems.LEMON_JUICE.get() ). The ModDrinks class is only ever used when creating your item.

  Ok, so, I'm not sure at all what I did, but this time when I loaded into the game, it says 3 mods loaded. The 3rd one is WorldEdit. And, when I do "//" in chat, the WorldEdit commands show up. I have no idea what happened, but this is great!

  Just got back from updating the computer, but when I loaded into Minecraft (the forge 1.20.1 launcher profile) and went into the mods tab, the only ones loaded are still Minecraft and Forge, and WorldEdit is in the mods folder.
