The last time I tried to make metadata items was in 1.7.10.

I am trying now but everything changed.

Can someone explain how to make it or at least send me a link to a good tutorial?

Items still use metadata, that hasn't changed.

Instead of overriding a method to return a different icon based on the metadata, you now register a model for each metadata value by calling

ModelLoader.setCustomModelResourceLocation

in preInit.

This thread has links to various tutorials.

Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.

Thanks! I'll take a look.

I also suggest laying out your common/client proxies to be similar to this:

https://github.com/Draco18s/ReasonableRealism/blob/master/src/main/java/com/draco18s/hardlib/EasyRegistry.java

https://github.com/Draco18s/ReasonableRealism/blob/master/src/main/java/com/draco18s/hardlib/client/ClientEasyRegistry.java

I've put mine in a library mod so I can reference the methods from any child mod (hence the static methods and odd name).

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
