Adding dependencies to a forge project

Hey im having difficulties adding dependencies to my forge project, the dependencies will also need to be copied into the compiled jar but i got no clue on how i could do this?

 

i put this into the Dependencies block of the build.gradle file

compile group: '---', name: '---', version: '---'

i also tried compile '---:---:---'

 

I then ran gradlew --refresh-dependencies but no libraries got added

 

Is there any documentation on how id achieve adding libraries and then setting the project to compile the library into the jar when gradlew build is executed,

How about you put what you're trying to depend on, rather than just dashes?

Sure no problems,

 

compile 'com.google.apis:google-api-services-youtube:v3-rev181-1.22.0' is what ive been trying to use with gradle

Im using IntelliJ Idea 2016.2.4, is that the problem?

I followed these instructions on compiling my dependencies, and it works https://github.com/MinecraftForge/ForgeGradle/wiki/Dependencies

 

But its been spitting out  java.util.zip.ZipException: duplicate entry: META-INF/INDEX.LIST

 

How im currently running this:

jar {

    from configurations.embed.collect {

        exclude '/META-INF/'

        it.isDirectory() ? it : zipTree(it)

    }

}

That method of shading dependencies should no longer be used. The Gradle Shadow plugin works properly with ForgeGradle 2 (Used in 1.8.8+) and, as such, that should be used. See here for an example.
