Why does this page still exist even though it's not updated?

It should at the very least have a disclaimer that it's outdated. It's especially misleading since it shows up under the first google result for "minecraft forge download".

Weird what  google do you use?

gives me files.minecraftforge.net as the first link, without any reference to the old page. . .

 

*edit: just looked at your screenshot. Why would you click a sublink? The very first link is the index page. . .

Actually you're right there is really no reason to keep the index.html up. Could just make a header redirect to the normal download page.

All the files are mavenized so that has no more data then the normal download page...

It's labeled "Minecraft Forge Downloads" so someone could think that the main link was an about page and that the listed sub-page was the specific download page. Many sites have the index page and download page as separate pages.
