Posted July 23, 20178 yr Hello everyone is there any docs or tutorial for custom particles that at least compatible for 1.11 and such? My idea is to create a bunch of particle lava casted from a mouth (entity) and fires like a beam..
July 23, 20178 yr Author Anyone knows better which one should i prefer? A render using Tesseletor/Renderers or just Particles?
July 24, 20178 yr Author Bump. So here what i did a created a custom particle extending Particle at my new dev 1.11.2. should i just use Minecraft.getMinecraft.effectRender.addEffect(Particle); to spawn it?
January 4, 20187 yr I too would like to know how to create custom particles. Recent posts here have covered how not to do it (don't subclass ParticleCloud), but I haven't been able to find any docs at all on how one should do it. The official docs, under "Effects," have only a page for Sounds — nothing at all for particles that I can see. So. How do you create a custom particle in the latest Forge?
January 4, 20187 yr I'm not sure I can in any way explain how this works, but I know it does: https://github.com/Draco18s/ReasonableRealism/blob/1.12.1/src/main/java/com/draco18s/ores/client/ProspectorParticle.java I only render the particles on one client (not all clients) and I use packets to tell the affected client it needs to render the particle and then handle the message via my client proxy. Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice. Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked. DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
