So i just installed forge for the first time, (1.12.1) and it ran just fine. but as soon as i add ANY mod, i get a crash report. i tried this with many different mods, all of them crashes minecraft forge. i tried some FAQ, none of them seemed to fix it. i attached an example.

fml-crash-2017-09-07_21.08.03.txt

Description: FML has discovered extracted jar files in the mods directory.

This breaks mod loading functionality completely.
Remove the directories and replace with the jar files originally provided.

java.lang.RuntimeException: Extracted mod jars found, loading will NOT continue

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

Is that seriously it? All the other games i have ever modded required me to extract the file. I will try it tomorrow
