Posted March 16, 201312 yr I tried installing forge for minecraft on my mac, following instructions from a youtube video exactly and it didn't work. Minecraft freezes on the done loading screen. When looking up this error I found magiclauncher, which I am currently trying to make work. It says there is 1 error in forge and when I check the log it says this: MagicLauncher 1.0.0 java.home: /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home java.runtime.name: Java SE Runtime Environment java.runtime.version: 1.6.0_43-b01-447-10M4203 os.name: Mac OS X os.version: 10.6.8 os.arch: i386 sun.arch.data.model: 32 Missing class member: public B c, class: ajf, mod: minecraftforge-universal-1.5-7.7.0.583.zip *** Starting Minecraft *** Minecraft version: 1.5 Minecraft.jar: minecraft.jar Mods: minecraftforge-universal-1.5-7.7.0.583.zip BiblioCraft[v1.1.3].zip NotEnoughItems 1.5.2.2.jar Java path: /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk/Contents/Home/bin/java Memory: 512 MB LauncherPath: /Users/Ric/Downloads/MagicLauncher.app/Contents/Resources/Java/MagicLauncher.jar LauncherPath: /Users/Ric/Downloads/ *** MagicMinecraftLauncher 1.0.0 *** java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: ayf : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0 at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClassCond(ClassLoader.java:631) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:615) at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:141) at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(URLClassLoader.java:283) at java.net.URLClassLoader.access$000(URLClassLoader.java:58) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:197) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:190) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:306) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:247) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClassCond(ClassLoader.java:631) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:615) at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:141) at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(URLClassLoader.java:283) at java.net.URLClassLoader.access$000(URLClassLoader.java:58) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:197) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:190) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:306) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:247) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClassCond(ClassLoader.java:631) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:615) at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:141) at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(URLClassLoader.java:283) at java.net.URLClassLoader.access$000(URLClassLoader.java:58) at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:197) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:190) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:306) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:247) at java.lang.Class.getDeclaredMethods0(Native Method) at java.lang.Class.privateGetDeclaredMethods(Class.java:2436) at java.lang.Class.getMethod0(Class.java:2679) at java.lang.Class.getMethod(Class.java:1605) at magic.launcher.Launcher.main(Unknown Source) I have literally no idea what any of that means so any help would be appreciated (I have the latest version of Minecraft and of forge)
March 16, 201312 yr Update Java. Before you say anything about Java 7 being not available for Mac: Look here. There's an EAQ for a reason. Read it! March 16, 201312 yr One of your mods is compiling for java 7.. why? Forge ships against java 6. I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
March 16, 201312 yr Author Update Java. Before you say anything about Java 7 being not available for Mac: Look here. I'm using Snow Leopard so I can't get Java 7. I followed your link but the installer still said I needed Lion. One of your mods is compiling for java 7.. why? Forge ships against java 6. I really have no idea what that means or what to do about it, sorry. Can you please explain?
March 16, 201312 yr What did you install into your minecraft jar? Oh, and look in Software Update. Read the EAQ before posting! OR ELSE! This isn't building better software, its trying to grab a place in the commit list of a highly visible github project. www.forgeessentials.com Don't PM me, I don't check this account unless I have to.
March 16, 201312 yr Author What did you install into your minecraft jar? Oh, and look in Software Update. At the moment my minecraft.jar is completely clean because forge made it not load so I re-downloaded it. I looked it Software Update, nothing Java or Minecraft related.
March 16, 201312 yr Software Update never has had, and probably never will have an update to Java. Apparently Oracle made Java 7 updates only available to OS X 10.7.3 (Lion). Go yell at the author of whatever mod you installed not to use Java 7 then. [spoiler=More Info]According to this, as of Java 7u6 only OS X 10.7.3+ is supported. Java 7u5 should work on OS X 10.6.8+. However, older archived versions of Java are unavailable for download to the public. So...blame the mod author. There's an EAQ for a reason. Read it!
