Can't seem to download correct version of Forge

Hi, I'm trying to install the latest version of Forge but the installer is downloading an older version than the one I am selecting.

 

I specifically select the "1.12.2 14.23.3.2675" then open up the forge-1.12.2.exe launcher, decline the virus install ads, then hit Finish.

New program pops up, the "Mod system installer". But the version listed is "forge 1.12.2-14.23.0.2529"

A significantly older version... and one incompatible with the mods I'm trying to install.

 

I've tried a dozen times, clicking the 2655 version as well but getting the same result... am I doing something wrong? Or are the links broken?

Hmm seems this issue is isolated to the "{removed}" website.

 

I just downloaded the version from "https://files.minecraftforge.net/" and it downloaded and installed the right version.

 

...didn't realize there was two sources for Forge.

There arnt, ONLY ever use MinecraftForge.net

 

Any other website is stealing from us, and most likely installing viruses/malware on your computer.
