custom renderer that utilizes default and non-default textures

i managed to get my textures to render perfectly , but when i try and render even a single face with a vanilla texture i get the texture not preloaded message and very weird looking block.

 

any idea how to get vanilla textures to render on the block too?

You should update to 1.5, since the whole block/item texture system has changed now.
