Posted January 19, 20196 yr I'm wondering if anyone can help me: I'm trying to @Override the BlockCrops#getGrowthChance function, but IntelliJ and Gradle keep complaining that there's nothing to override, even when I literally copy and paste the entire function into the new class. What's going on here? Here's the new class' overridden version, just for reference. @Override protected static float getGrowthChance(Block blockIn, World worldIn, BlockPos pos) { return 0.3F; }
January 19, 20196 yr You can't override static members. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2223386/why-doesnt-java-allow-overriding-of-static-methods Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice. Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked. DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
