Override ItemArmor#onArmorTick to detect when the player is wearing the armor.

 

As for making the player emit light, I can think of 3 methods, all of which have drawbacks:

1. Manually set the light level of the blocks around the player (very resource demanding, can cause a lot of lag)

2. Make a custom block that emits light. Create the block at the player's position, and destroy it whenever the player moves to another block. Repeat the process as the player moves

3. Rewrite how Minecraft lighting works (like in AtomicStryker's Dynamic Lights mod) (hard to implement if you are a novice modder, as you have stated)

 

I would say the 2nd way is the easiest to understand and to implement.

Define glow.

if you mean “render fullbright on the player” it’s very easy.

if you mean create light around the player, you can make a light-emitting block that follows you around (reasonably difficult), or you can depend on OptiFine’s Dynamic Lights feature and/or the dynamic lights mod (probably pretty easy)

I thought about making a block that emmits light but what will happen when, for example, player stands near a torch or swims in the water?So, at this point I've done some research and decided to add dynamic_lights.properties to my mod./*Sorry for my english*/

A glowing texture for a custom armor is a daunting task; you'll need to create a custom render layer for your armor, which is easier said than done, and also connect that layer to the player that should be wearing it. I really have no idea how to do that. I'd recommend looking into how other mods do custom armor, and working from there.

    • Whenever I launch Minecraft Forge (With or without any mods installed, yes, I've checked my mods folder, it is empty. I also tried Curseforge's app.) above the version 1.18.2 (Versions 1.18.2 and below work fine), the game crashes before opening and shows error code 1. I have no clue what it could be, I've tried many different options on my own, but any suggestion helps.
    • Hello support, I would like to tell you that I recently had troubles with getting into forge in Minecraft. I wanted to play with my friend a modpack in the game in version 1.20.1 when I downloaded it it crashed so we I started deleting some unnecessary mods to maybe lower the pressure if my PC is not good enough to run the modpack. But I went to delete every mod and installed a hole new version of forge with no mods installed or anything with it it still crashed.     • I just tried installing Forge version 1.21.3, and tried launching it with no mods installed. It loads, and immediately crashes while "loading bootstrap resourses." Does anyone know a fix for this? My Java is up to date, as well as my graphics drivers. Here's a snip right before it crashes: https://imgur.com/a/elLujPj
    • I know this is a forge only place, but just to be clear, my error is in Fabric I was actually super frustrated while trying to fix this, like this mod does work when I play it by launching it in minecraft, but when I was trying to install it onto the server it just kept crashing so I decided to delete every mod I've got but kept the bewitchment mod and the necessary mod it needs to function and I tried to run the server...
