I'm trying to render a regular block model inside a TESR.

This is my code:

	@Override
	public void render(TileEntityRegeneratingOre te, double x, double y, double z, float partialTicks, int destroyStage, float alpha)
	{

		IBlockState ore = te.getOre();

		Minecraft.getMinecraft().renderEngine.bindTexture(TextureMap.LOCATION_BLOCKS_TEXTURE);
		BlockRendererDispatcher renderer = Minecraft.getMinecraft().getBlockRendererDispatcher();

		GlStateManager.pushMatrix();
		GlStateManager.translate(x, y, z);
		GlStateManager.rotate(-90, 0, 1, 0);

		renderer.renderBlockBrightness(te.getOre(), te.getWorld().getCombinedLight(new BlockPos(x, y, z), 0));

		GlStateManager.popMatrix();
	}

However, this produces a very dark block:

What can I do to fix this issue?

Also, how do I add the breaking animation and correct break particles? I tried looking at any of the vanilla TESR but didn't really get smarter from that...

te.getWorld().getCombinedLight(new BlockPos(x, y, z), 0)

The 0 you pass in there makes it always a 0. It will take which ever number is lower the actual light level or the passed in value.

I thought World#getCombinedLight uses which ever is larger, the passed in value or the neighbor block light.

1. Do not follow tutorials on YouTube, especially TechnoVision (previously called Loremaster) and HarryTalks, due to their promotion of bad practice and usage of outdated code.

2. Always post your code.

3. Never copy and paste code. You won't learn anything from doing that.

1. Read the EAQ before asking for help. Remember to provide the appropriate log(s).

2. Versions below 1.11 are no longer supported due to their age. Update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.

Oops I read it reversed.

renderBlockBrightness

I think the actual problem is that this expects brightness to be a float 0-1 instead of 0-15. So divide by 15F.
