Posted August 25, 20196 yr I tried to override things like Enchantment Table's getting power raised by Bookshelves to include one of my custom blocks, but it never took. I have tried many different kinds of overriding classes, but it never seems to work. I was wondering if there is something i am missing. THIS IS NOT EXACT CODE... August 25, 20196 yr Your class is never used. You cannot override a concept from Minecraft with a new class and expect the game to use it. Your block has to override it; Block inherits IForgeBlock, and therefore its method of checking the enchanting power of that position. In your block you want to make into a bookshelf, override IForgeBlock#getEnchantPowerBonus and return the value you desire. Some tips: Spoiler Modder Support: Spoiler 1. Do not follow tutorials on YouTube, especially TechnoVision (previously called Loremaster) and HarryTalks, due to their promotion of bad practice and usage of outdated code. 2. Always post your code. 3. Never copy and paste code. You won't learn anything from doing that. 4. Quote Programming via Eclipse's hotfixes will get you nowhere 5. Learn to use your IDE, especially the debugger. 6. Quote The "picture that's worth 1000 words" only works if there's an obvious problem or a freehand red circle around it. However, how can i override an "Interface" function in a class?
August 25, 20196 yr You don't override interface methods, you implement them. And don't implement Forge's extension interfaces directly. Extend Block or Item as appropriate, they already implement those methods, all you have to do is write @Override methods.
