[1.15] Masks Mod

Hello everyone !

Let me present you my Masks mod for Minecraft Forge ! This mod lets you craft masks that give you the powers of different Minecraft mobs.

 

 

To craft a mask, you’ll need a life essence. This item has a 1% chance of being dropped every time you kill a mob.  You can use a life essence to craft a raw clay mask:

 

 

Cook it to get a stringless clay mask, add a couple strings to it, and voilà, you get a nice mask to wear!

 

 

Now, this mask looks nice, but it gets even better when you use it to craft monster masks. Here is a list of the masks you can craft so far, and what they can do:

 

Passive animal masks

These masks are very simple to craft, but won’t grant you incredible powers:

-Cow mask: lets you eat tall grass blocks by right-clicking on them

-Sheep mask: lets you eat grass blocks by right-clicking on them

-Red mooshroom mask: lets you eat red mushrooms by right-clicking on them

-Brown mooshroom mask: lets you eat brown mushrooms by right-clicking on them

 

Neutral animal masks

-Wolf mask: if you’re too lazy to kill your cattle and cook some meat, just put on this mask and right click on your cattle to it them alive. Warning: you might experience colour perception losses !

 

 

 

 

 

 

-Bear mask: Don’t mess with bears ! This mask grants you with a strength effect. In snow biomes, you also get a health regeneration effect.

 

 

 

 

-Panda mask: Don’t mess with pandas either ! Works the same as the bear mask, but the health regen effect applies in jungles.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

-Iron Golem mask: This mask gives you a resistance and strength effect that can  help you while fight a raid. The only downfall is that it is too heavy to sprint with…

 

 

 

Sea mobs masks

These masks greatly improve you underwater survival chances, however, they can be a bit more expensive to craft:

-Guardian mask: Protects you from guardians, and gives you an underwater breathing effect

 

 

 

 

 

-Elder guardian mask: Protects you from guardians and elder guardians, and gives you an underwater breathing effect as well as night vision when under water.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Overworld monster masks

These masks give you the powers of the overworld monsters.

-Spider mask: This mask confuses spiders so that they won’t attack you, gives you a cool night vision effect, and enables some weird spider shader.

 

 

 

 

 

-Skeleton mask: This mask prevents skeletons from attacking you, and increases your bow damages.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

-Stray mask: Like the skeleton mask, the stray mask protects you from strays. It also gives a slowness effect to you arrows.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

-Creeper mask: At this point you probably guessed how it works: this mask prevents creeper attacks. It also lets you ignite creepers by right-clicking on them. Oh, and there is a cool shader that comes with it.

 

 

 

 

 

-Enderman mask: This mask doesn’t protects you from anything but lets you pick up (almost) any block by right clicking on them (but it costs 1 xp level).

 

 

 

 

 

 

-Slime mask: All the slimy mucus oozing from this mask will slow you down, but also absorb fall damage.

 

 

 

Nether monster masks

These masks greatly improve your survival chances in the Nether by giving you a fire resistance effect.

 

 

-Ghast mask: Right clicking with a fire charge while wearing this mask will let you throw a fireball, light a ghast, but will consume 1 xp level.

 

 

 

 

-Blaze mask: Right clicking with blaze powder in your hand while wearing this mask will let you levitate for a few seconds. Very useful if you ever find yourself falling in lava, or if you forgot to build the stairs to your house. It will cost you 1 xp level.

 

 

 

 

 

-Magma cube mask: Like its overworld counterpart, this mask will make you slower. But it will also let you walk on lava by creating temporary solid blocks beneath your feet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

-Wither mask: The only nether mask that won’t give you a fire resistance effect. This mask will save you from death by restoring all of your HP when it hits 0, but giving you a wither effect that will live you with ½ heart left. You can’t afford to be hit a second time.

 

 

 

That’s all there is for now, but I plan on adding more masks.

Please note that the config file lets you:

-enable and disable shaders for each mask

-change the life essence drop rate

-change the xp cost of some of the mask powers

Maybe the shulker mask would let you levitate if you jump in mid-air, but at the cost of 1 XP?
