I want to try out my new mod, but forge keeps crashing with "The game crashed whilst initializing game Error: java.lang.IllegalStateException: No renderer registered for cfm:seat" AND the normal version isn't fully updated and I don't have the netherite or any of the new updates anymore. But it says its the latest update. What do I do?

Do you have by any chance optifine? Optifine right now is in beta stage, so it has bugs that could cause crashes. Also send your debug.log.

You should find it in here:C:\Users\<your own username>\Appdata\Roaming\.minecraft\logs\debug.log

Good luck!

EDIT: Remove Optifine.

So I got rid of optifine on the Minecraft launcher, but the same thing happened

It sounds like you removed your standalone Optifine Installation/Profile.

You still have a copy of Optifine in your mods folder, this is where Forge gets it from.

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.

@OliviaaaIn the future, on the page you download Optifine from, there's a link to the Changelog for each version. If you look in the changelog before you download, it will tell you which version of forge it needs, or if it is not compatible with forge. :)
