So I have the Minecraft forge file on my desktop but when I click install client, the bar that shows up saying downloading libraries, it has not loaded at all and is stuck at less than halfway completed. I tried re-downloading the forge, I tried exiting the forge and re-opening it up again but nothing works and it is kind of frustrating. Any advice would be appreciated.

Is the installer generating a log? It would be in the same folder as the installer with the same name, but with .log at the end. If so, you should post it here. How long did you leave it running before you canceled it?

I honestly have no idea if it is generating a log, I am very new at all of this forge stuff but I have watched a good number of YouTube videos on how to do it correctly. I let it sit for hours and no progress has been made on it. The forge is for a later version, 1.7.10 for a lord of the rings mod I want to get, Could that be the reason why it won’t load or are they totally unrelated

1.7 is no longer supported on this forum.

Please update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.
