Posted May 5, 201213 yr Since this is the general discussion board, I am allowed to post about anything related to modding. I'm just curious. What do you think is the hardest part of making a mod? In my opinion the hardest would be promoting the mod after it's done and getting people to use it. What's your opinion? http://calclavia.com/uploads/banner.png[/img]
May 5, 201213 yr I agree that promoting is very hard. However, I got lucky and got a mod spotlight from Ipodmail
May 5, 201213 yr For me the hardest part has been my own self-confidence. I still haven't released anything I've created yet, simply because my self-confidence won't let me release a version where I'm still missing some of the important things I need to add... I accidentally the everything then NullPointerException.
May 8, 201213 yr I hate releasing unfinished/imperfect things... At least it leads to better overall quality. I accidentally the everything then NullPointerException.
May 11, 201213 yr i tend not to promote my mods but rather just post them and let them be. I mostly mod for myself or my server then public release my mods for other. The harder part i've found about modding is getting modding help and find that the code i need. http://i577.photobucket.com/albums/ss215/bobstrong/ModBannerMed.png[/img]
May 14, 201213 yr Avoiding flame from people who don't like your mod. I've posted once, just a simple mod that added a blaze lantern, and it was flamed beyond belief because, apparently, it was stupid. So, what would happen if I did push that shiny red button over there? ... Really? ... Can I try it? ... Damn.
May 19, 201213 yr Promotion is definitely the hardest part – I had to get the Yogscast's attention myself, and it took some time, but once I finally got them to look in my direction, they loved what they saw and now I have Lewis's email and 200,000+ downloads to boot.
May 22, 201213 yr I find SMP the hardest, I just can't get it to work properly, except for simple Items and Blocks adn Entitys, with guis i fail
