I heard 1.8+ are no longer supported so I'm here to ask you guys what version of Minecraft is a good substitute to 1.8.9? I'm used to 1.8.9 so I would highly appreciate it If the version you guys reccomend are as identical to 1.8.9 (With the block hitting things)

EDIT: I have realised that I gave little information about the reccomendation thing so what I meant is, I'm more of a PvP person so what I meant was, What version of Minecraft is best to pvp on?

The recommended Minecraft version is the latest, 1.15.2 at the time of writing.

I don't know what you mean by "the block hitting things".

As of right now, the options are simply 1.14.4 or 1.15.2 if you wish to receive support. The latest is pretty much always the recommended version to use, but you can try either and see which one suits you.

That being said, you are free to use any version you wish, as long as you will not require support from the forge forums/discord.

For normal Minecraft I think the general consensus (that I've heard -- don't quote me!) is that 1.8.9 is the best in terms of PvP mechanics, as it uses pre-1.9 combat and has the most bugs ruled out of the pre-1.9 versions. It is, however, missing 5 years of good features from 1.8.9 - 1.16

For Forge, the latest version (and one behind, as of this writing) is the best if you need support, as versions older than that are not supported.

Just some things to bear in mind :)
