I just recently created my github and added the gitignore file to it. But then I commited all of my mod files, and my internet went down, so the files aren't there. But I can't commit them again.

How do I fix this?

And in the bottom left it has a 1 and an arrow pointing up... does this mean it is still commiting?

Find the checkbox called "force."

It'll effectively ruin any past revisions you have, but it will do a commit regardless.

(You don't have any revision history, so it won't hurt you in any way).

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

I can't find it. Not in eclipse neither in github....

get smartgit. There's a learning curve tho.

set up a clone on your repository and link it to a local source folder, move your code into that folder and link it in eclipse. From then on you should only have to use smartgit when needed. free non commercial license by the way.

Git GUI? EGit? GFW? Git out! I use console Git. (lol, hipster.)

If you do, what does "git status" give you?

I don't use the console only because I find it easier to use graphical interfaces.

Oddly, I find programming those interfaces to be a bitch.
