Install Problems- Mac Lion Minecraft 1.6.1

Hello Minecraft Forge community. So, I have just a little problem with the latest version of Forge. So, I got Forge today to install it on Minecraft 1.6.1, and found it was a .jar file. So, I go to launch it,and oddly, it didn't run. I tried to open it with "The Unarchiver", to see if it was not meant to be an executable, but I guess it is, as there were only a few files there. So, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to fix this problem, or if there is an alternative .zip fie. Also, I am running jre-7u25. Thank you, and hopefully I will be able to find a solution to this problem with help from the community

Run the installer, not universal. Universal IS Forge. But it's not for people who know what they are doing.

The Installer is the helpful simple user interface to install Forge into the new launcher.
